The automated reply I got on a Wed at 1850 hrs said they were closed despite the fact that they were open, they don't close until 20:00hrs on a Wed! Hopeless!

In Chester o phone contact number published in any local directory and when found online no one answers the phone however long you let it ring for. If you ring the national online service you go through about seven stages to only get the recoded message 'sorry we cannot help'. I have letters that should have arrived missing and they clearly do not want to care. A service to be ashamed of.

A dreadful example of a mail office; if this is a privatisation 'success' then I'm a monkey's uncle!

WHY ARE WE BEING TOLD THAT THE MOTIVE POWER SHED AT CHESTER STATION IS THE POSTAL RAIL DEPOT? THERE ISNT ONE. NOR HAS THER EVER BEEN SO. ROYAL MAIL SIMPLY USED TO USE THE RAILWAY STATION PLATFORM TO LOAD AND UNLOAD THIER BAGS OF MAIL ETC!!!!!!
  • Chester Railway Station, Me (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
The main station in Chester. The station is on the North Wales Coast Line, with westbound trains heading to Llandudno and Bangor, while eastbound trains head to Manchester and Crewe. It is also the terminus of the border line to Wrexham and Shrewsbury, the local services to Manchester and the Wirral line to Birkenhead. The facade has impressible Italianate architecture but the interior is in a state of dilapidation; the folded iron roof leaks and a section is missing from a nasty accident in 1972. The planned £10m restoration should see to this.
